R.D. Burman, fondly known as Pancham Da, is one of the shining stars of Indian music whose tunes and songs transcend the boundaries of time and still live on today. R.D. Burman said goodbye to the world on 4 January 1994. It has been 30 years since R.D. Burman left. However, his memories and songs remain in the headlines. Every little thing related to his life is alive in the hearts of the audience and music lovers. Musician R.D. Burman composed music in more than 300 films. His songs are the first choice of the youth of the 20th century. Even today, fans search for his songs on YouTube, listen to them, and enjoy them.

As we have told you above, from 1960 to 1980, Pancham Da's songs proved to be chartbusters at the box office. Whatever he wrote would become a hit. However, as the 80s ended and the 90s came, Pancham Da's stardom and charm both weakened. As soon as the 90s came, one after another new composers had made their mark in the music industry. Music composers like Nadeem-Shravan, Anand Milind, Shiv Hari and Jatin-Lalit started getting a lot of importance in films. In such a situation, Pancham Da started getting fewer offers.

This time was very painful and disappointing for Pancham Da. However, he had one quality. He never went to anyone to ask for work. But he kept sitting in search of work. In such a situation, one day suddenly he got a big offer. A young director approached him for his film. This was such an occasion on which Pancham Da could not believe that his songs would still be in demand. In such a situation, Pancham Da became emotional. He could not stop himself in front of the director and started crying.

That young director was none other than Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Let us tell you that Vidhu is known for directing superhit films like Parinda (1989), '1942: A Love Story (1994)', 'Mission Kashmir (2000)', '12th Fail (2023) etc.

According to IMDB reports, after the superhit Parinda, when Vidhu brought his second film '1942: A Love Story', he approached Pancham Da for the song of this film. Pancham Da without delay promised Vidhu that he would give music in his film.

According to the report, when Vidhu reached Pancham Da's house for his song, he sang his first song 'Kuch Na Kaho, Kuch Bhi Na Kaho' but Vidhu was not happy with this song. He rejected this song. Pancham Da ignored this rejection and did not say anything. But Vidhu said to Pancham Da while leaving - I'm looking for music like the one pictured behind you and I know only you can give it to me. Pancham Da turned back and looked at his father Sachin Dev Burman's photo. He became very emotional after seeing this. He promised Vidhu and said give me one week.

A week later Vidhu again went to meet Pancham Da. However, he asked for another week's time. Slowly the second week also passed. Vidhu again went and Pancham Da said, sit down Vidhu and listen to this tune. As soon as he played the first note of the song 'Kuch Na Kaho, Kuch Bhi Na Kaho', Vidhu jumped up and laughingly said, wow Pancham Da you have done a great job, this is what I wanted. After this Pancham Da kept playing notes one by one. One by one Vidhu played all the songs of the film to Vinod Chopra, after listening to which Vidhu was left speechless. Finally, Pancham Da did something that the world remembers even today.
