Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film, 'Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh,' has been highly anticipated for a long time. After the official announcement, the makers have now released an intense teaser that vividly portrays the horrors of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the film features Akshay Kumar in the lead role, alongside Ananya Panday and R. Madhavan in significant roles.

In this film, Akshay Kumar portrays Sir C. Sankaran Nair, a renowned lawyer who courageously challenged the British Empire after the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The movie is produced by Dharma Productions, Cape of Good Films, and Leo Media Collective.

The teaser begins with an eerie background score, featuring the agonizing screams of victims and the chilling sounds of gunfire. A disclaimer states that the visuals of this massacre are too horrifying to be shown. The teaser echoes distressing lines like "Please stop, for God's sake," "Shoot them down," and "The doors are locked," creating an intense and unsettling atmosphere.

Akshay Kumar dominates the teaser, particularly in a gripping courtroom scene where he fiercely confronts a British judge. Meanwhile, Ananya Panday appears for only a brief moment in the teaser.

The film is based on the book 'The Case That Shook the Empire' by Pushpa Palat and Raghu Palat. It aims to shed light on the aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and the legal battle that followed.

Sharing the teaser, Akshay Kumar wrote:

"He held his head high. He beat them at their game. He told them where to go. A genocide India must know about. A revolution painted in courage."

The film is set to release worldwide on April 18 in cinemas.

Jallianwala Bagh Massacre - A dark day in India's history

On 13 April 1919, on the day of Baisakhi, unarmed Indians were fired upon indiscriminately at Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar on the orders of British Brigadier General Reginald Dyer. Thousands of people had gathered to celebrate the festival of Baisakhi and for a peaceful gathering against the Rowlatt Act. Dyer ordered firing without any warning, and bullets were fired continuously for about 10 minutes. Jallianwala Bagh was a closed area, from which there was only one narrow way to get out. British soldiers also cordoned off this route, so that people could not escape. Thousands of innocent people, including women and children, were martyred. This massacre proved to be a turning point in the Indian freedom struggle and after this, the resentment against the British Raj increased further.
