Actress Reveals Death Threats and Pressure to Alter Key Historical Events Depicted in the Film
Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is in the headlines these days for her upcoming film 'Emergency'. In this film, Kangana is playing the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Since the release of the trailer, this film seems to be surrounded by controversies. After the release of the trailer, first the Sikh community demanded a ban on this film and now the censor certification of the film has been stopped. This has been revealed by the actress herself. Kangana released a video on ‘X’ and alleged that the censor certification of her film has been stopped.
In this video, Kangana said, "Many kinds of rumors are flying that our film 'Emergency' had got the censor certificate. But this is not true. Although our film was cleared, but now its certification has been stopped. Because many threats are coming, of death. The censors are getting a lot of threats.''
Kangana further says, in such a situation there is pressure on us not to show the assassination of Mrs. Gandhi, not to show Punjab riots, then I don't know what should we show? I don't know what happened that the film suddenly got blacked out. I can't believe it but I feel pity for the condition and thinking of this country.''
Kangana will be seen in the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the film. This film is going to be released in theaters on 6 September 2024. The story of this film is based on the 'Emergency' implemented in India in the year 1975. Apart from Kangana, Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhary and Milind Soman will also be seen in important roles in this film.
