Rajnath Singh Highlights India’s Commitment to Peace, Citing the Symbolic Worship of Weapons in Protecting Integrity and Sovereignty

On the occasion of Vijayadashami, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also performed Shastra Puja. The Defence Minister reached Darjeeling in West Bengal where he worshiped weapons with the army personnel in Sukna Cantt. During this, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh interacted with the army personnel in Sukna Cantt and inquired about their well-being. He also took a group photo with the army personnel.

On the occasion of Vijayadashami, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, 'We all know that today's festival is a symbol of the victory of good over evil. When Lord Rama conquered the evil Ravana. It was a victory of humanity.'

Rajnath Singh said, 'We have never attacked any country because we have no enmity with anyone in our hearts. We have fought wars only when a country has disrespected our integrity and sovereignty. When a country has started a war against religion, truth and human values.' Along with this, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that worshipping the scriptures is a symbol, which can be used with full force when needed.

Let us tell you that there is a tradition of worshipping weapons on the occasion of Vijayadashami. In the beliefs of Hinduism, it is said that the goddess protected religion and gods by killing demons. Ram also killed Ravana to protect religion. Therefore, on this day the weapons of the goddess and Lord Shri Ram are worshipped. Weapons kept in temples and homes are also worshipped to protect religion. King Vikramaditya started the worship of weapons on Vijayadashami.
