Ola Electric is gearing up to disrupt the electric three-wheeler market with its upcoming model, expected to launch in 2024. Sources suggest that this new vehicle, temporarily named "Raahi" (meaning 'passenger'), will offer more space and advanced features compared to existing electric three-wheelers. It is anticipated to be priced lower than its major competitor, Bajaj Auto's electric three-wheeler.

The new Ola three-wheeler will go head-to-head with market leaders like the Bajaj RE, Mahindra Treo, and Piaggio AP E-City. Industry insiders have hinted at "first-of-its-kind" features that will set this model apart in the growing electric vehicle (EV) segment.

Additionally, Ola Electric is planning a commercial variant designed for goods transportation. This version will feature a larger loading area, customizable for various commercial needs, catering to a wide range of customers.

Ola Electric's Managing Director and Chairman, Bhavish Agarwal, confirmed the company's plans during a recent interview, stating, "Three-wheelers have always been part of our plan, and we are also focusing on it technically. The manufacturing capacity we have developed in two-wheelers can be easily implemented in three-wheelers as well."

The launch is expected to boost Ola Electric’s profitability, with its vertical integration in battery cells, motors, and software poised to give it a competitive edge in the three-wheeler market. As the company continues to expand its EV lineup, this new offering could further cement its place as a leader in the electric mobility space.
