NGEL Inks MoUs with GSPC and GPPL at Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit
NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC with a vision to be the flag bearer of India's renewable energy journey, has signed MoUs with Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Ltd.
New Delhi: NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC with a vision to be the flag bearer of India's renewable energy journey, has signed MoUs with Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (GSPC) and Gujarat Pipavav Port Ltd. (GPPL) during the three-day Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, inaugurated by the Hon'ble Prime Minister on January 10th, 2024.
Driving Green Hydrogen Mobility: The MoU with GSPC, exchanged between Shri Gurdeep Singh, CMD, NTPC, and Shri Milind Torawane, MD, GSPC, in the presence of distinguished guests, aims to blend Green Hydrogen into GSPC's gas networks and promote Green Hydrogen mobility by setting up fueling stations in Gujarat. This collaboration holds significant potential for reducing carbon emissions and advancing clean energy solutions.
Developing a Green Hydrogen Ecosystem: The MoU with GPPL, exchanged between GM-Hydrogen, NTPC, and MD of APM Terminals, Pipavav, focuses on developing a comprehensive Green Hydrogen ecosystem. This includes plans for producing Green Ammonia at GPPL's designated land for both domestic and export markets. Additionally, the MoU explores establishing Pipavav Port as an anchor port for NGEL's exploration, development, and operation of offshore wind farms in Gujarat. This strategic partnership could pave the way for a thriving Green Hydrogen and offshore wind industry in the state.
NGEL's Renewable Energy Journey: With over 3.4 GW of operational capacity and a robust pipeline of 26 GW, including 7 GW under implementation, NGEL is actively leading NTPC's transition towards renewable energy. The MoUs with GSPC and GPPL represent significant strides in this direction, fostering collaboration and innovation to create a greener future for India.
