Every year on April 23, World Book Day is observed to encourage a love of reading, writing, publishing, and copyright throughout the world. It has a crucial role in promoting literacy and education and promotes reading. Additionally, the day emphasizes copyright and publishing.

We should make a commitment to read more books and learn about eminent authors who have influenced our culture on World Book Day in 2023. One of the greatest life-changing activities is reading since it gives us knowledge. It also aids in our world building and fresh path-finding. For us, books are absolutely essential.

This year World Book Day will focus on "Indigenous Languages."The subject matter is the nation's indigenous languages.

The first World Book Day was observed on April 23, 1995, and it is being observed on that date today. In March, the United Kingdom and Ireland mark a similar occasion. UNESCO chooses the World Book Capital for a year on the occasion of World Book and Copyright Day in collaboration with an advisory council made up of representatives from the key book business sectors. Each city that has been named the World Book Capital implements a programme of events to honor and promote books and reading. Accra, the capital of Ghana, will serve as the World Book Capital in 2023.

Here is the list of books you should read:

  1. Khaled Hosseini's The Kite Runner

Looking for some of the top novels for beginners to read? Despite the fact that there are many choices, The Kite Runner has it onto everyone's list. Are you curious about it? Give you some insight, please! It tells the tale of a privileged boy's shady association with the servant boy of his father as they grow up. We assure you that this short book will make you feel a wide range of emotions regarding life and its unexpected occurrences. Simply go for it!

  • Arundhati Roy's The God of Small Things

Do you know what this book's best feature is? How realistic! This book is enlightening and is set in Kerala (the lovely Kerala, of course). Additionally, it discusses communism and walks you through the lives of Rahel and Esthappen the twins. But why is this book recommended for new readers? because of the narration, which is heartfelt and straightforward. Fun fact: It is Arundhati Roy's debut novel and is regarded as one of her best pieces. Additionally, it can be your reading debut!

  • Francesc Miralles and Hector Garcia's Ikigai

What do you want your life to accomplish? What inspires you to rise from your bed each morning? The solution lies in your ikigai. It is a long-standing Japanese philosophy that has been linked to the long life expectancy of the nation. We won't be overstating things if we state that this book will change your life. This book outlines common issues and offers helpful answers to assist readers in leading a healthy lifestyle and discovering their Ikigai (life's purpose). Another factor making it one of the beginner-friendly books to read is its readability.

  • Jen Sincero's You Are a Badass at Making Money: Master the Mindset of Wealth

They claim that business and money-mindset books are boring and not appropriate for novices. But what if a brand-new reader wants to read this kind of book in order to make changes in their lives? So here is your response. One of my all-time favorite authors is Jen Sincero. You won't be able to put her book down because of the way she writes. The first page will have you hooked. Sincero discusses life lessons from her own experiences that influenced her view of money in this particular book. She has disclosed everything, from being broke to getting successful.

  • John Green's Looking for Alaska

The master of Young Adult fiction is John Green. His debut book, "Looking for Alaska," is definitely special. The protagonist of the book is a teenage lad named Miles Halter who enjoys recalling people's dying words. Incredible, isn't it? Miles now transfers to Culver Creek Preparatory High School in Alabama from his Florida school. Alaska, who is also a really fascinating character, becomes his friend. The book explores a variety of subjects, including loss, loneliness, companionship, and the search for life's purpose. So if you're looking for something intense and thrilling, this is it.

. Written by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni,

The Palace of Illusions Isn't the description of this book's plot-the epic Mahabharata as narrated by Draupadi-enough to make you want to read it? No matter how many times you have read or seen the Mahabharata reenacted, this story as seen through Draupadi will undoubtedly alter your viewpoint. It is Draupadi's perspective after all. You should read her tale to see how different it is from what you already know because of this.
