In yet another step towards further strengthening the ‘Education Revolution’ in the National Capital, Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday inaugurated the Govt. Girls Senior Secondary School and Govt. Boys Senior Secondary School in the Deoli Pahari area of Sangam Vihar. The new school is set to bring a paradigm shift in the quality of education for the underprivileged students in the area promoting highest quality education amongst underprivileged communities, which shall liberate the conditions of the government schools and upgrade it to the world class. 

 

The compound of the school has the statue of Dr. B R Ambedkar, which shall inspire the students enrolled in the institution to take up the path of his legacy left behind. The renaming of the school after this celebrated freedom fighter, shall help in creating an equitable society. The land for the school complex (8494.59 sqm) was given by the Gram Sabha to the Directorate of Education and the construction of the school began in 2019, and was completed in July this year. The school building consists of 3 blocks and has a total of 62 classrooms. In addition, there are 4 labs, 2 libraries and a lift. There are also office & staff rooms, activity rooms, toilet blocks on every floor of the building. The new school will begin from the current academic session and a total of 2000 students from the nearby areas will study in this magnificent campus which will offer all streams of study in senior secondary class- Science, Commerce, Arts & Vocational subjects. A double-shift Govt. Girls Senior Secondary School (Morning shift) and Govt. Boys Senior Secondary School (Evening shift) will start operations from August this year.
